Figure Skating Show
Maddie's achy legs were proof of all the time she spent on the ice this week. I think she was ice skating 10 hours Mon-Fri. She really loves figure skating and I'm glad we decided to do it this year!
Friday, Andy got to go fishing for the day, Jann and Boyd came, and Maddie had an ice skating pizza party after the dress rehearsal.
Saturday morning we started our day of by cleaning the church. It was our families turn and unfortunately the other families didn't show up but me, Andy, Garen, and Maddie were able to accomplish almost the whole church in 2 hours. Andy played in his church basketball game at noon (despite his hurt back) then we all went to dinner at Applebees before the show.
Maddie was a bit nervous but she did so good in both of her performances!!! I loved watching her conquer her fears and do a solo in front of a huge crowd with a spotlight just on her and I love seeing the skills she has learned in just a few short months.

Here is a video of her 2 dances I took at her Friday rehearsal-

What Valentine's Day looks like when you have 3 kids and a preschool
I started my Valentines day off with going to Garen's PJ and ice cream party at the CDC. Then I had my preschool Valentine party with games, love potion, cupcakes, etc. As soon as the preschoolers were picked up, I headed to Maddie's 3rd grade party. We got home just in time to say goodbye to Andy as he headed to work. Maddie and Garen had gymnastics, we made homemade heart shaped pizzas (in shifts of course because of gymnastics). Some I Love You's and hugs then off to bed with way to much sugar in their systems and in my house.
Andy did leave me a very nice love note before he went to work and he cleaned up the kitchen and vacuumed the preschool while I was at Garen's party. I told him that was way better than flowers!!!
So my day wasn't the romantic Valentine's day some people may have had, but I'm okay with that.
These are the I Love You in sign language pictures I took of each preschooler for their parent's Valentines-
Sophie and I
Sophie also had a fun day while everyone was in SLC. She went to Princess Playgroup in the morning. During this time Andy and I found ourselves alone since Maddie and Garen were also at school so we took advantage and went to breakfast together at IHOP.
After Andy and kids left Sophie and I met friends for a bagel and a heart shaped cookie. Then we headed to gymnastics. It felt so strange to be walking into the rec center with just one kid! Usually we are running late and I have Maddie's ice skates, snacks, water bottles etc. loaded in my arms and the kids are usually fighting over hitting the elevator buttons. Instead Sophie and I strolled in on time hand in hand. I got to stay and watch her the whole time since Maddie wasn't in ice skating. She was too cute waving at me every couple minutes and giving me thumbs up.
After Sophie came visiting teaching with me and was very well behaved. Then she helped me make cupcakes and put together about 60 Valentines for the next day.
I worried that she wouldn't go to bed well since she has always shared a room with Maddie, but that was not the case. After some stories, scriptures, and prayers I tucked her in and didn't hear another peep. It was nice to have the day with just my sweet Sophie!
After I started videoing her she stopped doing it but it was so funny watching her try to hoola hoop. She would hold the hoop still and just wiggle her hips. I love watching her tiny chunky legs at gymnastics!-

Planetarium and Globetrotters with Dad
On Monday, Andy took Maddie and Garen to the Harlem Globetrotters in SLC. We pulled Maddie out of school at noon and they were off. After a short little spout of car sickness from Garen they started their day at the Planetarium. Following their adventures on Mars and the moon they ate dinner at the gateway and then headed to Energy Solutions Arena for the show. The kids loved it and told me about every part of the show the next day. I think they enjoyed having their day with dad. They got home about 12:30AM.
Andy took our old little camera because our current one won't fit in his pocket, so the pictures aren't great but still cute.
