Spring Break-Day 6

Monday morning we packed everything back up in the van, said our goodbyes and headed back home. We decided to take the longer way around since Bear Lake weather and the canyons were looking pretty bad. Luckily we only ran in to minimal snow, some rain, and wind. And we made it home before the gigantic storm we are having today!
We made it home about 3:30, got the car unloaded, took Maddie to swimming lessons at 4, made dinner, went to my Girl Scout meeting at 7, then Andy went into work at 9PM for a bit. Now on to the unpacking and the laundry.

On our way home, I gave Sophie one M&M. Who thought one tiny piece of candy could make such a mess!-

Easter-Day 5 of Spring Break

Easter Sunday the kids woke up to find their baskets filled with all kinds of fun things. Then we enjoyed the rest of Easter listening to conference, blowing bubbles, playing with playdough, playing more basketball, more Wii, and eating yummy food.

Spring Break-Day 4

Saturday was a full and wonderful day. We thoroughly enjoyed the conference talks; Maddie did pretty good listening to each talk and drawing something about it, we also played conference bingo with everyone. I loved the council and stories given by our prophet and apostles. I felt the spirit and learned from each talk as almost everyone emphasized being parents, strengthening families, and roles of mothers and fathers.
At lunch time Andy's great grandma Pug and his grandma Margaret joined us. The boys cooked and it was so good! Zeb made dutch oven potatoes and rolls, Andy grilled pork chops.
After conference we did our Easter egg hunt. Luckily the sun came out just long enough to have it outside. Sophie learned quickly that putting eggs in a bucket is pretty fun and eating the candy is even better. The rest of the evening we enjoyed playing some basketball, walking to the nearby playground, playing games, having an Easter lesson and just being with family.

Spring Break-Day 3

Friday was a rejuvenating, wonderful, much needed day! Andy and I headed to the temple about 10AM. We didn't get in till the 11:00 session because I forgot my recommend and had to wait for them to call the bishop. The endowment session was beautiful and uplifting. After the temple, Andy and I had a yummy lunch at Olive Garden. Then we spent the next couple hours getting some shopping done, new work pants, birthday presents, Easter basket stuff, etc. I can't remember the last time Andy and I went shopping together without the kids or spent that much time out together without the kids. Thanks Jann and Boyd for watching them all day.
We didn't get back till about 5PM. The kids were anxiously waiting to dye eggs. They had alot of fun coloring and decorating the eggs.

Spring Break-Day 2

Thursday we got to Logan just in time for me to make my dentist appointment-woohoo. :( After I got my cavity filled I took Garen and Maddie with me to my friend Brenda's house for a little play time. Maddie and Jacob have been best buddies since Maddie was 2. We had a fun couple hours with them.
Then we spent the evening playing games, loving Grandma and Grandpa, and playing the Wii.

Spring Break- Day 1

We headed toward Utah Wednesday after Andy got off work. The roads were an awful slushy mess and every time we went by a semi our windshield would get splattered and ice would freeze around our wipers.
As we neared Bear Lake it was almost 10:30pm so we decided to stay with Andy's grandparents instead of trying to make it through Logan canyon. On our way into Bear Lake we noticed a truck in the middle of the road with it's hazards on, we slowed and asked if they needed help. Their truck had broke down, they couldn't get cell phone service in the canyon and it was freezing out. We squished the kids together and drove the two guys into town. Don't worry, we don't make a habit of picking up strangers.
The kids were excited to stay with great grandma Janene and grandpa Roger. They were so kind to let us come in so late and take over their house. Unfortunately, we didn't bring Sophie's playpen because Andy's parents have one in Logan, so Sophie slept in the bed with me, Andy choose to get some real sleep and go sleep in a different room, and Maddie and Garen kept each other awake giggling in another bed.
We woke up Thursday morning to bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, and homemade raspberry jam! His grandparents are wonderful, I'm glad we got to spend that time with them- just a few weeks ago his grandpa was diagnosed with Lou Gehring's disease! We stayed and played awhile before heading to Logan. The kids love their talking deer head, the little trampoline, and the bear that copies everything you say.
