Maddie's Birthday

Maddie woke up to streamers on her door and her presents downstairs waiting for her.  It was fun to have Grandma Jann and Grandpa Boyd and Levi here to celebrate with us.  Before church we made Maddie a big birthday breakfast of bacon, sausage and pancakes.  At church she got sung too and after church we made her favorite meal spaghetti, rolls and fruit.  Then we had another cake for both Maddie and Garen.  It was a lovely birthday weekend.

My beautiful girl is 10 Years old today!!!

"double digits" as Maddie would put it.  Can't believe it was 10 years ago today that I became a mother.  We couldn't have asked for a better first child, she has been more than helpful through the years and always so capable of anything that is thrown her way.  I can't imagine my life without her in it!  Happy Birthday my sweet and sassy Maddie!!!

Maddie's Pool Party!!!

Maddie had 13 of her friends make it to her party including her cousin Abby from Utah.  We started off with cake and ice cream then presents and then lots and lots of swimming, sliding, jumping, and climbing.

 This year for Maddie's birthday she really only asked for one thing and that was an Ipad.  Since $350 is to much for us to spend a birthday gift Maddie has been working toward earning half of the money herself for the last 6 months.  So after chore and babysitting money and adding in some birthday money from grandparents and others she put down $160 towards the Ipad and still has some left for spending money in Minnesota.  Since her birthday is on a Sunday we headed out Saturday night to go get it and Maddie was happy as can be!  Within an hour she had all her favorite apps, music and was messaging her cousin Kaisa and she created a secret password to keep others out.

Father/Son Campout

Garen looks forward to the Father/Son camp out every year.  He loves camping one on one with Andy and being able to play with his friends, roast marshmallows and have pancakes for breakfast!

Andy gave Garen the old camera and these are picture he took.  After the last photo he accidentally dropped the camera in the river.  The camera no longer works but I did get these pictures (and some very interesting upside down videos) off the memory card.

We got to bring birthday treats into Maddie's class the Friday before her birthday.  The love Sophie and I got from her classmates was almost overwhelming.  Love how embarrassed Maddie is in the video of them singing to her.
