Standing Solo

please excuse the piles of laundry in the background, we were right in the middle of folding.
It's hard to get a good video of her standing (which she does all the time) because she is also very interested in the camera.

Maddie Lost Her First Tooth!

Maddie joined her friends in the toothless club yesterday. She begged me all day to pull the tooth out but it just didn't seem loose enough yet. So she wiggled it and messed with it all day long and finally around 6pm she showed it to me again and I pulled it right out.
She was so excited! She kept saying, "I can't believe I lost a tooth already, and I think I have another loose one."
We went with friends last night to celebrate a birthday and she was pleased to show anyone who would look that she had lost a tooth.
When we got home that night she made sure the little pouch with her tooth in it was partly open and clear on the side of her pillow so the tooth fairy wouldn't have any trouble finding it. And it worked! Her tooth was gone this morning and her little pouch was filled with money.
She ran in my bedroom yelling "the tooth fairy came!"
Losing her tooth is just another sign that my little girl is growing up!

This is the book I gave her on Saturday that came with the pouch to put the tooth in-

8 Months Old

I can't believe she's already 8 months old. On top of that I can believe she is crawling and climbing on everything! Her new trick is to climb up the couch and let go and just stand there. I'm not ready for another walker and her getting into everything!
Except for these painful teeth and this little cold she has, she is mainly happy and all smiles! We love watching her little personality come alive!

One Month Old

Sophie Mae is one month old today! I can't believe how much she has grown in the last month. She has already grown out of several of her little outfits. She is now smiling at people, holding her head up and cooing. She loves to just stare into peoples eyes and look around. She is such a good little baby and handles the loud activity of her siblings very well.

I got the blessing dress that Alisha made, so we decided to take a few pictures of her in it since the actual blessing day is always so busy! Isn't she beautiful. (notice the pink quilt under her, that was a gift from Alisha as well-the other side is even cuter).

No More Binki! And playing with giant blocks

Well, I've needed to take away Garen's Binki for some time now, but I've put it off since that little plastic thing can make all the screaming and whining go away in a matter of seconds.

With Garen's 2 year molars coming in he's been chomping on his Binki's and he finally bit a hole through his last one. And I can't go buy a 2 1/2 year old new Binki's. So I give him his broken one and he chooses not to use it because he doesn't like the rip in the side.

Garen is now Binki free, but he has not taken a nap since he stopped having one! :( We'll see how it goes from now on and hopefully we don't have a relapse when the new baby comes in a few weeks with her Binki.

This week I've had my neighbor Zoe a few days since their regular babysitter is gone. By 10:00 one morning Garen and Zoe were both getting restless so we went to the Family rec. center for some playtime.

This boy only thinks in trains and cars. Everything around us can always be turned into a train or car. Even the light coming in through the blinds becomes train tracks. Here's the car he made and pretended to drive around-

Garen had a blast building towers and knocking them down. But he was not happy when the other kids would knock it down for him. Watch at the end of the video, Garen is ready to slug a girl for knocking it down but he hears me call his name and holds back. Even though he hold back that time, it doesn't mean he didn't hit several kids for knocking it down.

Garen is 18 months old!!!

This is my little tribute to Garen who is now 18 months old. He is so much fun and is always making us laugh. He has started to say all kinds of things. His new favorite is "knock knock who"-He's trying to copy his sister's knock knock jokes. This Sunday will be his first time in nursery, I can't wait. We had a bit of a rough start with Garen, but I wouldn't trade my little boy for anything!
