Dentist

It was time for teeth cleanings again and I thought I better finally use a dentist in Rock Springs instead of traveling back to Utah. Luckily we have a dentist in our ward and I have his 2 oldest daughters in my Girl Scout troop and his 2 youngest daughters in my preschool.

I was really worried about Garen since he had never let a dentist clean his teeth before. He's aways refused to even go in a new place, let alone let some stranger stick strange tools in his mouth. But he watched Maddie go first and just said, whens it my turn.
Then he did exactly what the dentist told him to do and laid relaxed with his mouth open and even laughed when they would spray the water on his teeth. I was very relieved that I didn't have to hold him down or deal with the screaming and running away!

Maddie did awesome as usual. Her x-rays showed a tooth that can't come up cuz she has no room in her mouth. She lost the baby tooth over a year ago and I always wondered why a new one had not grown in yet. But it looks like this is going to be a problem finding room in her mouth for her grownup teeth. So we have to go see the orthodontist about getting some spacers.

Quick Trip To Logan

After our awful sick spell on Monday night where Maddie, Garen and I were all throwing up, we recooped and headed to Logan Wednesday and Thursday for dentist appointments. We got to have dinner with Andy's parents and his sister's family; then Andy and I headed to Avatar in 3D-It was fabulous!!! We got back from the movie about midnight.
Thursday morning the kids got to play with cousin Levi, Amber and Grandma. Then it was off to the dentist. Cleanings for Maddie and Andy, and no cavities. Unfortunately I was going in to get a cracked tooth fixed. It all went well. And then we were headed back to Rock Springs. Several stops, and lots of crying later we were home.
Maddie and Garen loved their tent beds-

Just an Update...

First of all-
Happy 5th Birthday Miriam!!!

Yesterday I got a chance to sub a 5th grade class and decided to take it since Andy was home. So I have to give a shout out to Andy because while I was subbing he took both kids, by himself, to the dentist (something I don't think even I would do). Neither of my kids particularly like the dentist. Ever since the spit sucker got stuck to the back of Maddie's mouth once, she's been terrified of the place. And well Garen just doesn't like strangers, let alone a stranger close to his face looking in his mouth. So I have to give my dear husband credit for doing such a great job dealing with both kids at the dentist!
And I thoroughly enjoyed my day of subbing. The class was so much fun and it being April Fools day, I got plenty of tricks played on me, including being zapped by a gag pen!

After subbing Andy's parents babysat the kids and me and Andy went out. First we picked up my new bike-more bonus points to my husband for buying me a new bike!

Then we headed to the temple. It was so nice to have that quiet, spiritual, uplifting time!
And before heading home we had a nice dinner together at the Olive Garden.

Also this week we got some new neighbors! Maddie loves that she has 3 new girls to play with next door. They are a cute little family, but I cannot pronounce any of their names!
