Family Home Evening

We had a lesson on the plan of Salvation and what we can do to be together forever as a family. Maddie drew herself being baptised and reading her scriptures and wrote down other things she thought were important. Also during this time she had many questions! Some of them difficult. Like our neighbors got married this past Summer in their backyard. They already have a 10 year old and 13 year old together. Maddie really wanted to know how you can have kids without being married first-I told Andy to answer that one. Okay, Garen's picture looks kinda bad, but he explained it as a Prophet (with spinney arms) laying his hands on Garen's head. So I guess Garen's mission in life is going to be a big one if the Prophet is the one with his hands on his head! He did also say that he drew himself trying to run away-interesting.

Family Movie Night

The kids have started a new job chore system that is working wonderfully. It's on myjobchart.com. The kids get points for doing chores, being kind to each other, exercising, reading scriptures, doing homework, etc. Then they get to turn those points in for small things like TV time, Wii time, a treat or they can save for something bigger like a new toy, Movie night, a trip to McDonald's, etc. Last night Maddie turned in 250 points for a late night movie night. She was nice enough to let Garen join in even though he didn't have that many points. We watched Princess and the Frog and had treats. The kids were super excited for all four of us to sit down and watch the movie, we don't do that very often. And I was excited when I found these little cups of dip'n dots at Walmart. These were special treats when I was younger but you only found them at selling stands in the SLC mall or at Lagoon.

And this is what Sophie did while we had our movie night-

Family Home Evening Olympics

After a short lesson on why Primary is fun and why it is important to go, we had our own little Olympics.
We did the luge down the stairs, the biathlon with Garen's toy gun, we did ice dancing, curling, Aerial skiing (assisted by Andy) and speed skating short track. It was a ton of fun, thanks for the idea Sara.

Here's a couple videos of our events-

weekend in Burley

We arrived at Sara's house on Thursday night and the kids were overly excited about playing with their cousins they haven't seen in a few months. Andy and I enjoyed saying up late with Sara and Ben watching the first season of lost-I think I'm hooked.

Friday the kids got to play some more and I got to watch the boys so Sara could help with Abby's first grade Valentine's party.

Later we left to Burley and Maddie was thrilled to have Abby ride with us.

In Burley Sara and I got to spend some time helping grandma and grandpa which was actually really nice for us. We left all the kids with the husbands so we got to hang out in piece and quiet with our grandparents!

We watched more Lost, some Olympics, played the Wii, went bowling, celebrated Valentine's Day, played outside, and just enjoyed being with my family!

Maddie loves playing Sara's keyboard-

Abby and Maddie loved having a sleepover together out in the living room-

Quick Trip To Logan

After our awful sick spell on Monday night where Maddie, Garen and I were all throwing up, we recooped and headed to Logan Wednesday and Thursday for dentist appointments. We got to have dinner with Andy's parents and his sister's family; then Andy and I headed to Avatar in 3D-It was fabulous!!! We got back from the movie about midnight.
Thursday morning the kids got to play with cousin Levi, Amber and Grandma. Then it was off to the dentist. Cleanings for Maddie and Andy, and no cavities. Unfortunately I was going in to get a cracked tooth fixed. It all went well. And then we were headed back to Rock Springs. Several stops, and lots of crying later we were home.
Maddie and Garen loved their tent beds-

Me and Andy in all our awesomeness at the movie-
