Hiking and Exploring the Mountains and Lake

We went on a really neat long hike up the mountain as a group. The view was beautiful and Andy definitely got his workout carrying Sophie most the way.
One morning Maddie and I went up a trail together and did some exploring. We got of the trail for a minute to cross the creek and as Maddie is pushing through the trees behind me she said, "now this is some really hiking!" The kids also loved throwing things in the creek and walking along the banks following it.

Fishing

Andy and Zeb got to go out fishing a few times. And the kids did a little fishing one evening.

I was sitting out on that rock where Andy is standing by myself when a beaver jumped up in the water out of nowhere and splashed me with its tail. It scared me to death!!! I took a picture of it as it was swimming away.

Louis Lake Lodge

I loved all the wood details in the lodge. I would love to have a cabin like this someday! The cabin was lacking electricity but the kids found it very exciting to carry lanterns around. We still had propane appliances and running water so we didn't miss the electricity much. The kids played endless games of checkers, tic-tac-toe, and uno with grandma. The lodge also was equipped with toys, blocks and puzzles so they enjoyed themselves during out our breaks from the outdoors and during a huge hail storm (I was very glad we weren't staying in tents during that storm). Our room was perfect with a queen bed for Andy and I, a twin for Maddie and Sophie to share, and another twin bed for Garen, and a big clawfoot tub! My favorite part of the lodge was sitting out on the big front porch.

Louis Lake Weekend

We got to spend Thursday-Saturday in Louis Lake with Andy's family. It was so beautiful and refreshing there. I miss it already. We got to stay in a lodge with 3 rooms and a big living area and kitchen. It was perfect to do all the campfires, fishing, hiking, etc and come back and shower and sleep in a cozy bed. We could put our kids to bed then come back downstairs to play games or hang it.
