Beauty and the Beast JR

My friends, Johanna, Amanda, and I took our kids to the Theatre for Youth's production of Beauty and the Beast tonight. It was actually really good and the kids loved it. Even Sophie sat still and watched the whole time and enjoyed laughing, commenting, and clapping. I'm considering putting Maddie in it next Summer.

Bike Ride adventure

Some of my friends and I hauled our bikes and trailers to the green river trail and went on a nice long bike ride. We hit a few spots where the river had gone over it's banks onto the trail and had to get all wet going through it. It was mostly my feet going through the water, but I had Garen and Sophie in the bike trailer and the water covered their legs and backsides. Luckily they thought it was fun. The highlight was Maddie running over a snake with her bike.

Activity Days

Maddie started Activity Days. She had so much fun and she even got a dozen roses as a welcoming gift at her first activity. They learned about the sacrament and got homemade bread.

Laughing, playing, running, and a crash with a Picnic table

What started out as a fun afternoon at the splash park, ended with a trip to the doctor. Garen was running after one of his friends and tripped on the sidewalk hitting his head on the metal picnic table. After I cleaned the blood I could tell it was very deep and needed to be looked at. Luckily out Dr. got us right in so we didn't have to go to the ER. Garen was so brave as they cleaned it all out and then glued it together. I was very thankful they were able to glue instead of stitch! Garen sat very still and even laughed a little. After all that he had to get a vaccine shot that he was missing.

Swimming

We had a lovely 3 hour playtime at Washington park. The kids loved swimming in the kiddie pool, going down the slide, and climbing trees.

Cousins

On Saturday night my parents and my sister and 3 kids came to Rock Springs on their way to Idaho from Minnesota. It was so much fun to see them. My kids enjoyed every second they got to play with their cousins! Although we talk several times a week I hadn't seen my sister since they moved to NC 9 months ago. They stayed the night and came to church with us. I really appreciated my mom's help and advise with the YW lesson I had to teach. We were all sad to see them go Sunday evening. But we look forward to the week we get to spend with them soon!

Flaming Gorge Day 5K and Parade

On Saturday after just a few short hours of sleep my alarm went off at 6:30AM. At 7 I was on my way with some friends to run in the 5K race. The last 5K I ran was before I was pregnant with Sophie! I hadn't trained at all for this race and my body was very sore from the day before workout and 4-wheeling. I started realizing this factor just before the race began and started to question why I had decided to do this race at all!
The race was actually really beautiful and I enjoyed it at my own very slow pace. I'm glad I did it even though I got beat by old grandmas and little 7 year olds. All my friends that had passed me up were waiting for me at the end cheering (well maybe they were just yelling my name so I would hurry up so we could leave-haha).

After the race Andy met us for the parade (I was proud of him for successfully getting our kids ready and also bring my friends 3 kids to the parade on time by himself). Sophie was very into getting the candy-a few times she would even attempt to run out in front of the floats to grab a piece.

Twenty-Eight

So far 28 has been wonderful!!! My day started off with a 2 mile run followed by an hour of zumba. Then for lunch I got to go out with some of my girlfriends (Amanda, Johanna, Cammie, Erin, Melinda, Rene, and Kim). They spoiled me with presents and kindness, I am very blessed with wonderful friends. We followed lunch up with a trip to the yogurt place.

After some great conversation and lots of laughs with my friends Andy and I got to go 4 wheeling together. Thanks to my wonderful friend Amanda who loaned us the 4-wheelers and who also babysat my kids! Andy and I had a blast!!!! We were out for over 3 hours, we found all kinds of cool trails and covered all of White Mountain. It was so exhilarating and freeing to fly on top at of the mountain at 45MPH and to climb steep hills and jump off of crazy bumps; I loved every minute of it (minus the wind). We even climbed to the top of Pilot Butte. To top off the super fun 4-wheeling trip Andy and I got to enjoy dinner together as well!

It was almost 9:00 when we picked up the kids. When the kids were all in bed we watched a movie and went to bed a little to late considering my early morning the next day.
So 28 turned out to be one the best birthdays I've had in a long time!

Pillot Butte they we climbed to the top off-

It was so windy up there, it about knocked me over!-

We even saw some flowers, which is a very rare thing in Rock Springs-

Behind Andy is the rickety ladder we climbed up to get to the top-

Sewing at Girl Scouts

Splash Park

Finally a warm enough day to play at the splash park!

Trying to not let the water hit them-
