Turkey trot

Me, Everett and Sophie got to join Garen and his school to do a one mile walk around the mall. Sophie was getti g tired of walking so I had to bribe her with getting a pretzel and smoothie if she finished walking with us.

Preschool tidbits

Preschool Turkey day and Feast of Favorites

Andy had meetings one night so I got to watch Garen wrestle at practice.  He is crazy strong when he wants to be and it was fun to watch him happy and excelling.
Maddie and Garen learned to make a seat out of their hands so they used their new found skill to carry Sophie around and throw her on the couch.
Maddie had to do a presentation of the Greek Gods since they just finished the lightning thief and she decided to do a board game.  I love that it was all her idea and she made the entire thing all by herself.  She made up question cards and little game pieces like a lightning rod for Zeus and fire for Hades.  I was pretty impressed.

Dear little Everett

I was trying to hold off Everett's nap one day because we had some appointments.  It didn't work-
we attempted a Mohawk-
He is really getting into reading his own Thankful Thursdays~

Meet the author

I took the kids over to the library after school to meet the author and illustrator of Snowmen At Night , and the Balloon Farm (and many other books). They read some of their books, the illustrator showed how he draws some characters and they talked about how to publish books. It was really cool. The kids got some of our books signed and got to talk with the couple.

And we had to take a picture of the beautiful sky when we came outside-

The teacher told the kids to write about the best kind of dog and since Garen hates all kinds of dogs (and animals) this is what he wrote.  So clearly none of the dogs are best.  I love that the teacher copied this out of Garen's journal and sent it home, it made me laugh!  The teacher wanted to show me how good he is at writing an introducing sentence, 3 details and a conclusion sentence.
Garen's picture illustrates him punching the dog and the dog flying to the next page and saying ow.
