We Dream of a World...

This is a paper Maddie brought home from art class and I thought it was so sweet. It says, "We dream of a world...Where everyone has a family."

Sophie and some little friends

Here's Sophie with some little friends, she's actually starting to me nice to other little kids.
Casen and Sophie-

Sophie and Eden-

Sophie has been sick with some sort of flu since Thursday and is still throwing up today. Garen has this flu as well, he got sick last Monday and has been sick on and off for a week-Not fun.
But Sophie managed to give me a few smiles despite her sick tummy.
here she's saying please, poor thing really wants some food but she keeps throwing it up-

Maddie's Ballet Photos

How cute is she! To bad she doesn't want to take ballet next year. We'll give piano a try.

Maddie's Summer Plans

While cleaning Maddie's room up today, I looked in her little journal to find two pages listing things she is going to do this Summer. I thought is was quite creative and funny so I had to write it down:
*Make books
*Go camping
*Go fishing with dad
*Make crafts
*Go to Grandma and Grandpa's houses
*Go to the mountains and bird watch
*Play basketball with dad
*Have a picnic at the park
*Make a fort
*Build a playhouse for me and Garen
*Go to Jacob's house
*Make paper butterflies
*Make toy airplanes
*Get a Chameleon
*Roast marshmallows
*Go to the water park
*Make a house out of tissue boxes for my animals.

I think we are going to have a busy Summer!

Preschool Picnic

This morning we had our last day of preschool, we spent it at the park playing, blowing bubbles and having a yummy picnic. What a great group of kids I've had this year! Garen' said his favorite part about today was rolling down the hill and tackling Carter.

An Evening at the Cemetery

I took the Girl Scouts to the Cemetery last night so we could talk about Memorial day and about respect. Each girl got a rose to put on a headstone of their choosing, then we went looking for neat pictures on the headstones to do crayon rubbings on. Maddie had a great time showing me all the different pictures and designs she found and it was such a beautiful evening!
This was a little section called baby heaven, where several babies and young children were buried. This is hard to explain to 7 year olds.-

I had Garen and Sophie with me so you can imagine trying to talk to 11 young girls while make sure a 3 year old and a one year old don't pull all the flowers of the headstones.-
Maddie was pretty good at being respectful besides the occasional running to find another headstone...Until the sprinklers came on. Then there was a lot of screaming, and running followed by jumping and laughing.-

The Preschool Graduate...

Garen was all ready to say his parts and sing his songs this morning at graduation. But just as we were getting ready he threw up everywhere! Poor kid spent graduation in bed leaning over a throw up bowl. Luckily Andy was home so he could stay with him while I went, cuz you can't really have preschool graduation without the teacher!

Here are the way cute candy bar wraps my friend Brenda made. Check out all the great stuff she has at putawraponit.com.

We had a graduation practice last week, so here a few pictures of Garen at a happier, less sick time. At the practice Garen had to say what he wanted to be when he grows up and in the cutest little voice into the microphone he said, "I want to be like my dad." I wish I could have video taped him, but not much you can do when throw up is involved!

We measured the kids on the wall throughout the year. Here is Garen in Sept. at 39 inches-

And here he is looking older in May at 40 inches-

Funny kids

Garen was running back and forth in the family room with Sophie following behind. Garen was singing and saying a bunch of random things, I asked him what he was doing and he said he was making a movie called Garen and the baby crazy nuts show and he was doing the opening song.

On our way to Walmart this morning in the snow I said, "it's not suppose to snow, it's suppose to be Summer." And Maddie replies, "I know it's suppose to be sunny and windy." I guess living in Rock Springs Maddie has learned the Summer is not hot, just sunny and windy.

Flashback Friday

In the first home we owned in Logan we had a duck lay her eggs in our backyard. We got to watch them everyday and wait for them to hatch. Then when they did we got to watch them for a couple more weeks as they hid in our garden and wandered around our yard. (Spring 2006)

Big Sister Maddie

The last few weeks, when Sophie wakes up Maddie has been getting her out of her crib, bringing her downstairs with her, and getting her some breakfast. Maddie likes to act like her little mom and I like to lay in bed a little longer. I always come down to Sophie already fed and sitting happily with her sister. So sweet!
Also last night, after I put the kids to bed I could hear someone upstairs. I went up to remind her to go to sleep since it was already passed bedtime and there Maddie was with my scriptures open reading. She smiled and said "I just wanted to read a few more scriptures before bed." What a wonderful little person she is becoming!

Celebrating Garen's B-day at Preschool

Garen was super excited to share popsicles with all his preschool friends to celebrate his Summer birthday.

Morning Fishing with dad

Andy and Garen went out fishing this morning before the rain came. They didn't have any luck with catching fish, but Garen did like the picnic and climbing on the rocks. Andy did have to use his fishing skills to catch Garen's hat that blew out into the lake.

Preschool Fun Day

Today was Crazy hair day at preschool. I attempted to put orange paint in Garen's hair but he decided he didn't like it and tried to wipe it all out.
Today was also fun day. We played games inside the first half, followed by outside games like parachute, bubble painting, obstacle courses and then letting our Ladybugs go. Garen said after that it was the best day ever.

The dance

I took this video at rehearsal with my regular camera. I know the quality and sound are not good, but you can still see the dance

My week

Andy had 3 days off this week! So Tuesday was my 'Mother's Day'. Andy made me breakfast, I went to lunch with friends, I did all the grocery shopping with no kids, then Andy made dinner. The next two days he had off I was able to paint our bedroom and two bathrooms and get the house cleaned up and back in order! It was wonderful having him home, I was sad when he had to go back to work!
Friday, Andy's parents came. The kids had a wonderful time playing with them, going to McDonald's, having cake and ice cream for Jann's birthday, and watching Maddie dance.
They even folded socks-

Spring Recital

Maddie had two recitals on Saturday. Her grandma and grandpa got to take her to the morning one and even gave her some roses after her dance. Andy and I got to go to the evening recital and watch the little cutie dance. After her dance I went and got her and brought her in to watch the rest of the dances.

Andy liked this one because this is how his sister Amber used to drink out of her water bottle-

Flashback Friday-ballet recital time

It's time for Maddie's ballet recital, so here's a look of some of my past recitals-
clogging-

got to love my not so graceful leap-

I'm not sure why I am posing with a chair, a little awkward I think-
