Sophie again

Maddie must have left one of her markers on the dresser near Sophie's crib. Sophie must have been able to reach her little hand just far enough to grab it and then pulled the lid right off. When I went to go get Sophie from her nap I was worried when I saw red on her face but soon realized it was just marker. Marker all over her sheet and blanket, her face and the wall!

Ward Easter Egg hunt and Breakfast

This morning I took the kids to our ward Easter Brunch. The food was great the kids had a wonderful time even though they didn't find as many eggs as they wanted. Maddie came out a bit late and only got one egg but her friends were very nice and everyone was offering her some of theirs. I wish Andy could have joined us, but we had a good time anyway.

To some it may look strange finding eggs in the snow, but we were just happy the wind wasn't blowing like crazy-

Movie Night With the Girl Scouts

I took Maddie and the Girl Scouts to 'How To Train Your Dragon' in 3D tonight. Maddie had a wonderful time with her friends but was found throughout the movie with her 3D glasses off and her fingers in her ears. But the movie really was quite good.

Sophie, the Wii Master

Sophie likes to think she is playing the Wii with us. It's so funny to watch because she pushes the buttons and swings it just like the rest of us do. She is growing up so fast and learning so fast.
She is just over 15 months and weighs in at 20.5 pounds-I only know that cause she had to go to the doctor for bronchitis and an ear infection.
Some other grown up things she's been doing lately: when I ask her if she needs her diaper changed she goes and gets the wipes and a diaper and brings them to me, she always carries her shoes and coat around and stands by the front door letting me know she wants to go somewhere, when anyone takes their shoes off in the family room she automatically picks them up and carries them to the shoe basket, and when I put her in her crib she curls up and pulls her own blanket over her and smile all ready to sleep, she gives me kisses on the cheek and blows kisses to people.
This girl is quite the handful, but she makes us smile all day with the very cute and very silly things she does.

Sweet Maddie

When Maddie got home from school she handed me a note that she made for me during free drawing in art class. It was pictures of butterflies and flowers and inside it said, "I love you mom. You are a good mom."
It made me smile inside to know during her few free moments at school she is thinking about making her mom feel happy.

Last Ice Skating Lesson of the Season

Maddie moved up to the next level in ice skating yesterday. She's becoming quite a good little skater. Today they practiced skating backwards and spinning. Hopefully she can pick up where she left off when the rink opens again in the Fall.

Happy St Patrick's Day

Donating Baby Blankets

Maddie helped make fleece blankets to give to newborn babies with our Girl Scout Troop. Yesterday we were able to go deliver them to the OB nurses at the hospital and take a tour. Maddie was very interested in all the equipment they use for new babies. I think she learned a lot, maybe even a little to much about labor and delivery.

And the Winner is....

MADDIE!!!
The pinewood derby car that Andy and Maddie made together came in first place against 25 other cars. Maddie loved cutting and painting this car with her dad and winning was just an added bonus! She got a giant gold metal around her neck.

Preschool Pajama Party

Wednesday was our preschool pajama party. Garen got popcorn and treats, brought a pillow and a stuffed animal and watched a movie. Of course eight 3-5 year olds don't sit through a movie so we watched awhile then headed out to the tent and did storytime and songs. Then after some playtime went back to the movie for a bit. Garen had a wonderful time with his preschool friends being wild in their PJs!

now here's something you don't see very often, Garen with girls-

Girl Scout Ice Skating Party

Last night was our Girl Scout Ice skating party. Maddie had a blast skating with her friends and eating girl scout cookies. Unfortunetly for me I wasn't feeling well with a sore throat and Garen and Sophie were unhappy and tired the whole time.

One Sick Boy

I think this picture sums it up pretty well. Poor kid is so sick. Not only did he get his sister's pink eye 10 times worse than her, he has an awful cough, a sore throat, and currently a fever of 102.9 after several doses of Tylenol and Motrin! He doesn't want to eat much; he said if he swallows it will make his throat bleed, so I guess it hurts pretty bad. He had a 4 hour nap today aided with a humidifier, Vick's, cold rags, and Tylenol, but he doesn't seem to be feeling any better.
I'm just waiting for Andy to get home from his Boy Scout Court of Honor so he can give this little guy a much needed blessing.

A day full of Girl Scout Stuff!

This morning my Girl Scout troop (including Maddie) headed to Home Depot to make bird houses. Maddie loved making hers and later her and Cali painted them at my house.

Later in the afternoon we set up a cookie booth outside Walmart to sell all our left over cookies. Sophie was tired and Garen is sick so I left them in the van with a movie on while I set up our tables and sold cookies. We sold all 160 boxes in about 2 1/2 hours with people asking for more!
