First day of preschool

Sophie has been attending my preschool since she was 8 months old.  It's kind of sad that this is her last year being in my preschool!  She was so excited for school to start up again and Sophie was such a huge help as we tried to teach the new preschoolers our daily routine.  It was a great first day.

 Everett was less than helpful in preschool today, climbing on tables and dumping markers but he slept for 3 out of the 4 hours of school making it manageable. 

Princess Playgroup

I had a great time with 10 little princesses for princess playgroup today!  We painted, ate cotton candy and strawberries, went on a treasure hunt and found frozen princesses at the end that the girls had to rescue.  They loved smacking the ice to try and break their princess free.  They dressed up, colored, played outside and got to find a surprise at the end for helping clean up.  They loved the balloons with bracelets attached to the bottom.  I love that Sophie gets to have a great time with so many fun girls her age.

Sophie is the sweetest big sister. She is always looking out for Everett. She always gives up her toy or her treats just to make him happy. And every time I set Everett on the couch with his bottle I find Sophie cuddled next to him a few minutes later. She is his 2nd-I guess 3rd cuz of Maddie-mother. Sophie always tells me in her mother voice "be careful mom Everett is right behind you", "or don't let him fall" etc...

Last day of Summer

Our Labor Day was mostly spent cleaning the preschool and cleaning out the garage. But Maddie and I squeezed in a little shopping and she got her hair trimmed. The kids had a picnic and spent the day playing outside. We went to our friends house at dinner for a BBQ. It was a lovely last day of Summer. 

Check out this handsome little Sunday sleeper but don't let him fool you; as soon as I woke him up for church he wasn't quite so peaceful.  We are still missing a shoe somewhere in the church building and he almost played the piano up on the stand during Sacrament meeting.

The kids played for hours outside this evening. Sophie was a completely different color when she came in and she had dirt and sand falling off of her as she walked. She was not happy about having to come in when it got dark. But after I showed her the picture I took of her all dirty she wanted me to take a smiley clean one.

New bathroom

I'm so happy to have a bathroom down in the preschool now and it's all thanks to Andy. We had the plumber do all the pipping for the shower, sink and toilet but then Andy did the electrical, the air vent, the sheet rock, mudding and tapeing, the tile, and the baseboards. And now it's all ready to go with even a week to spare before school starts. 

Back to school open house

Garen was excited to meet his first grade teacher.  He wouldn't talk to her but he was happy to be there.  Then we explored maddies new school for fifth grade. They are both so excited-and a little bit nervous to start school on Tuesday.
