playing in the snow

Me and my friend walked into Breaking Dawn last night with just a bit of snow coming down and we came out of the movie to 6 inches of snow.

Luckily it was still here this morning and the wind had disappeared, so we took advantage and played in the new fluffy snow!

Preschool Feast of Favorites

For our preschool Thanksgiving feast each kid got to bring their favorite food to share with everyone. It was fun and there was tons of yummy foods!

Sister beat down

This is Garen's black eye, it's looking much better than it did a week ago.

Between friends, church, school, and gymnastics he had been asked about a million times what happened to his eye. The answer to that question is Sophie and partly Maddie!

Some stranger at the Rec. center even came up to him and said where'd you get the shiner dude, want me to beat him up and then Garen turned and pointed at his 2 year old sister. I'm glad the man resisted beating her up!

Sophie got tired of Garen repeating everything she was saying and grabbed the remote and smacked him right in the corner of the eye, then the next day Maddie and Garen were wrestling and Garen ended up with the scratch by his eye. Who ever thought sisters could be so dangerous.

First Competitive Gymnastics Meet

Maddie had her very first competitive gymnastics meet today. She just started level 3 a month ago and I was worried she would not do well at this competition. They line up the winning order 1st through however many kids there are and I was so worried she would get last place or close to it or that she would forget her routines.

But she had a blast and now has a good feel for what is expected at competition and what to work on to get better scores next time. She ended up in 4th place in the all around competition! Just one place from getting a metal. Not to shabby for her first try. We are very proud of Maddie. She's one of those kids you can stick in a new, challenging, or scary situation and she handles herself well and usually ends up towards the top of the pack.

Her scores were:

7.9 on beam

8.25 on vault

7.0 on bars

6.7 on floor (she skipped a skill in her routine)

Gymnastics Camp

Maddie got to do a gymnastics camp this weekend. It was 7 hours on Friday and 7 on Saturday. She learned a lot and really enjoyed it! She just joined the competitive team and her first meet is next weekend.

Halloween Madness

Garen started our Halloween off with his preschool party in the morning. Sophie got to go out with dad and do a little grocery shopping and trick or treating. Then I headed to Maddie's school for her Halloween party. Right after school we headed to Maddie's figure skating Halloween party then straight to the ward Trunk or Treat.

Andy took Sophie and Garen home after the trunk or treat and I went with Maddie and let her and her little friends do some door to door trick or treating. We were home by 8 but needed dinner and to wash the colors out of the girls hair. After the kids were in bed Andy and I ended the night by watching Captain America. It was a fun and crazy Halloween!
