As we come to the end of another year we can look back at the many things that have changed-we may not realize what all the changes are if we only look at short period of time.
In November of 2004 I received a phone call and the lady asked if I was the Roger Pugmire who was in Downey California in 1957. She said that her name was Ilene Bray and she wanted to thank me for baptizing her into the church.
As we talked she said that her husband Robert who was baptized at the same time had passed away about ten years ago. And she had married a Mr. Wiggens and they were leaving on a mission to Scotland. She said that his would be her second mission. She also said that over 40 members of her family had joined the church after she joined. She also said that some of her family had served on full time missions.
When we stop to think that we may no be doing things and become discouraged that we only had one baptism in a year on our mission. Stop and think how sister Wiggens one baptism has changed things for so many of those who she has been around. One baptism has led to more than 40 members. There also has been several go on missions. What they have been able to do and with sister and brother Wiggens on two missions. How many lives has that one baptism changed? It could be well over 100 members. We may only say one baptism if we only look at one quick glance.
The Lord works in many ways . If we only keep focused on what we are to do many things will come as blessings. Some times we may not realize at the present time but as time moves on we will come to know that our prayers will be answered if we will keep working at what we are to do.
Keep up the good work and as we come to the end of the year we can look at the Christmas season and remember what our savior has done for each of us and what we can do to help the work go on around the world. We are only one but as a team much can be accomplished. That is the way it was meant to be (Team Work). May the Lord bless and keep us all on the right path.
