Only in Burley
On my way to lunch with my sister and mom we noticed the sign in front the gym. Haha!!! I guess the C and the L just fell off. I need to send it in because Burley was made famous early this year on Ellen with a photo of the sign that said, "21th Street".
Jeff Foxworthy show and Andy's Family
Thursday we left to Logan. The kids couldn't wait to visit Grandma and Grandpa and play with Levi. And I couldn't wait to hold Amber's new baby Zack! Unfortunatley, Andy's dad was in the hospital because they found blood clots in his lungs! With all that was going on Andy's mom was still willing to take the kids Friday evening while Andy and I went to Salt Lake to see Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the cable guy, and Bill Engvall comedy tour. We started our evening with a yummy dinner at Red Robin, then laughed for 2 1/2 hours straight! We even got to stop for ice cream on our way back. It was so fun to spend the evening with Andy. We go back to Logan about 12:30AM. I miss holding little Zack already!-

Young Author's Award
Maddie's teacher told me a few weeks ago that she was entering Maddie's story into the Young Author's Writing contest. I don't have a copy of the story but she wrote about a giraffe that wanted a big apple out of a tree and he tried many silly ways to climb it. Or something like that. Well we found out today that she got third place out of all the 2nd graders in the school district. We are pretty proud of her!!!

St Patrick's day
I managed to not get one picture of my kids even though they were dressed in green all week, I had an entire week in preschool about rainbows, shamrocks, and green, and we got to go to a fun little St. Patrick's day party with friends!
A leprechaun visited the preschool leaving green footprints all over and he turned all our weather words, song pictures, names, and calendar upside down as wells as flipping our tables and chairs. Garen and the other preschoolers were so excited and could not believe the leprechaun got out of the trap we made for him. But he did leave a not a bunch of treasure hunt clues on cold pieces for the kids. We enjoyed tons of different green foods and I made the above rainbow cupcakes. It really was a fun St. Patrick's day!

Girls Weekend
Andy, Garen, and Sophie went to Logan this weekend to see Amber's new baby. I had some other obligations so Maddie and I stayed home. But we took advantage of our girl time together. First we went to dinner at Pizza Hut (she's gotten a free pizza certificate every month this school year and this is the first one we've used). Then we went to a baptism, followed by getting Coldstone ice cream and staying up late watching a movie we rented.
I got a full night sleep for the first time in a really long time, then Maddie came to my Zumba class with me-she looked at me like I was crazy most of the time. Next we hit Applebese for lunch, then back to the rec. center for the Girl Scout Fun Fitness day. The girls had fun doing some kid's Zumba and playing fitness games. We got done in time to go help a family move into the ward (Andy usually does that and since he was out of town I thought we better take his spot). Maddie was actually very helpful unloading the smaller boxes and toys.
After an entire day of being gone we had about 3 hours before Andy and the kids returned home and I hadn't got any of the house work done yet. So Maddie and I got to work. We cleaned, folded laundry, vacuumed, and scrubbed for 2 hours and then headed to the store to get food for Sunday dinner the next day.
It was such a fun weekend to have tons of time for Maddie and I to just talk and hang out and she was so helpful!

Very Touching
I had a bit of a tough day with some very minor things we are working on with Garen and someone posted this video. It was a perfect way to give me that boost of strength as a parent I needed! I feel very blessed.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
We've been celebrating Dr. Seuss this week. We made ooey gooey blue goo (Fox in Socks) and painted with our feet (The Foot Book), ate fish and pink ink (One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish) ate candy green eggs and ham, made Grinch doorknob hanger, made tall Cat in the Hat hats, green eggs and ham placemats, ate real green eggs and ham, and made wockets for our pockets. Dr. Seuss stuff is so much fun!
