Rock Climbing

Today was the first Saturday in a long time that we didn't have something we had to be at. So we made it a fun family day. First we went to Andy's church basketball game. Then we headed to the Civic Center for some rock climbing; the kids loved it!
We stopped by the pet shop to buy crickets for our lizard and took a few minutes to check out the animals. For some reason Garen is deathly afraid of all animals but he was doing fine with the knowledge that all the animals were in cages. Then we came across the pet shop owners cat just lazily sleeping on a shelf, Garen spotted it and was off and running. He seemed a bit paranoid the rest of the time we were in there; checking shelves as he walked slowly through the store.
After all that it was 2:00 and we hadn't had lunch yet so we stopped in at McDonalds and the kids had a blast playing in the playplace. They ran around like crazy animals!

Later Maddie and I went shopping at the mall for some new tennis shoes for her and she even got to pick a pair of dangley earrings with her $10 gift card she got for winning the anti-bully poster.
The kids all helped Andy cook dinner and we ended our night with a family movie-Puss in Boots-and some ice cream sandwiches.

I don't mind being busy and I do enjoy the wrestling tournaments, gymnastics meets, ice shows, and trips out of town; but every once in awhile its nice to have a Saturday off and to just spend it being together as a family!
