Christmas things

Dec. 3rd in the advent calendar the kids were told to do something nice for someone else in the family. While Maddie was at school Sophie and Garen helped me clean her room-it was not a simple task! We left this note on her door-

Then Maddie helped Andy make dinner for everyone.
Dec. 4th said write letters to Santa and pick out a new ornament for the tree. The kids really enjoyed writing their letters, Sophie even told me what she wanted without ideas from anyone else. She said a doggy, a horsey, and candy. Maddie wrote her things followed by a list of good things she has done this year and why she deserves these gifts. Garen's not asking for much and just wanted to draw a picture for Santa.
Andy took the kids out to pick their own ornaments while I stayed home to get more house cleaning done. The kids were really excited to show me what they had picked out.

We had a lovely day together as a family and I enjoyed all the help I got from everyone to get the house clean. We ended the day with Christmas stories in bed with dad (which is a treat since dad isn't home to read bedtime stories during the week)-
