Sophie's first haircut

Sophie's hair was growing a mullet in the back and getting in her eyes in the front and not very long on the sides so I thought I better get it fixed. Since I am completely incapable of cutting hair my friend Kim did it for me.
Sophie is looking up at the giant elk on their wall, she was really scared of it.-

And of course Maddie needed a new dew to go with her super cute earrings-

Goodbye to those Lovely Locks

Remember this head of hair I loved so much...

Well, I left to my meeting last night and this is what Andy did. I guess he didn't like the fact that when his grandma came she thought Garen was Sophie. :) Pictures taken by Maddie-

And I have a whole new kid! I hardly recognized him this morning!-

A very full day

Today was Andy's day off and we were able to accomplish quit a bit. My morning started with making breakfast and walking Maddie to school, followed by visiting teaching and then a primary presidency meeting.

During my meetings Andy and Garen worked hard outside tilling up the dirt and cutting up our Christmas tree (yes, I said Christmas tree!). Andy also gave Garen a haircut. I couldn't believe how much hair came off of that kid!
When I got home I painted the stairway (I painted the bathroom yesterday).

Andy put stepping stones in along the side of our house, which the kids are love playing on. Andy was also going to plant some grass seed on the side of the house, but ran into a small problem when our sprinkles went to turn on. While tilling up the dirt with his shovel Andy hit the sprinkler line and water started spilling out everywhere. One more trip to Home Depot (that makes three today and one yesterday) for some replacement pipe and some work to do first thing in the morning and everything will be fine.
It was really fun to have Andy home all day and the kids loved playing outside way past their bedtime with this beautiful weather.

Sophie's first ride in the swing-

we finally brought the high chair upstairs. Everyone of my kids prop their foot up there while they eat.-

Sophie is still waking up several times during the night. Her bassinet is getting way to small for her and I hate putting her in Maddie's room in crib because it takes away from Maddie's sleep and I have to walk a lot further 5 times a night. So dad and Garen took the crib apart, moved it to our room, and put it back together.-

After- Maddie keeps calling him Joren and Colton, his cousins, because of the buzzed head. Garen just laughs.

Another Day

Yesterday we had my neighbor Zoe all day because her babysitter got sick and her mom had to go to work. Maddie had a blast dressing her up and playing dolls and tea party all day. We also made it to the park and had another picnic
.
And it was time for another haircut for Garen

Garen's new favorite thing is to tell Knock Knock jokes. He says knock knock then picks something random, and then just laughs without finishing the joke. It's pretty cute-

And we are super excited to head out tomorrow night for the last time before Maddie's school starts and before I get to far along. We are going to Bear Lake to stay with Andy's grandparents and see his family for Thurs and Friday. Then Sat-Mon is our 7th annual Young Family Games in Burley! I can't wait to see all 24 of my family members there! With my little family there will be 28 of us staying at my parent's house-so much fun!!!

What would the world be like without a best friend?

My world is a wonderful, happy, and funny place because of my best friend!
My best friend Carrol came yesterday! It was so fun to have her here, I wish she could have stayed the whole weekend! I miss her already!

I felt bad because my house was torn apart when Carrol arrived. There were people ripping my kitchen floor up to fix a plank that had cracked and I was in the middle of a mess making cookies while two of my neighbors Melissa and Lori and their kids were over playing in the pool along with several other neighborhood kids. So it was kind of chaos. But so much fun!

My favorite part was watching her little girl, Emily crawling in and out of the cold water, getting splashed in the face and just smiling the whole time! What a cutie!

Carrol, you made my day so much brighter, thanks for making the trip and for all the wonderful gifts!!!
In Carrol's short visit, she even found time to cute Maddie's hair for me and give her cute shorter summer due-

Father's Day Dinner

Right after Carrol left we headed out to Clarkston for a Father's Day dinner (Andy will be working Saturday night and Sunday night so we had it early). While we were there, Maddie and I got to take a little ride on the neighbors horse.

It was a fun evening with good food and fun games.

At the Zoo
Last night we didn't get home till 11pm and then still had to put the kids to bed. Then this morning I was up at 7am to start cleaning up the effects of the last couple days-dishes unwashed, laundry piled up, new birthday toys everywhere, wet swimsuits and towels, and so on. I had till 10:30 when the people were coming to inspect our home! Luckily with Andy's help we got it mostly cleaned up. While they took over our house we headed to Willow Park Zoo.

Surprise Party?
So after we got home, had lunch, Andy went to work, and Garen laid down for a nap, I took my chance to lay down for a minute to get rid of a headache. About 20 minutes after I had laid down I heard noise downstairs. I go to check on Maddie and she had taken it upon herself to invite the neighbors over telling them all that there was going to be a big party. Maddie had it all planned, she was even making the older girls blow up balloons. Well, I didn't want to ruin their fun so instead I got the camera and some crafts for them to make and we had a party.

Haircut by Maddie...

So yesterday, I was upstairs trying to get ready and I heard the kids laughing downstairs. When I went down a few minutes later, I realized what they thought was so funny. Garen was sitting on my lap and I was running my fingers through his hair and all these huge clumps of hair were coming out. I didn't know what the heck was going on at first, then I spotted the scissors on the floor and I look at Maddie and she knew she was in trouble! All of Garen's long locks were gone!
So Andy had to buzz his hair to even everything up! I hope it grows back soon! I like his shaggy hair.
